About the 'DA deleting accounts' journals

As of May the twenty first, deviantART will be deleting ALL  dA accounts. Not the plz accounts though. But just all name-wasted accounts, or accounts that we think are fake, or that are useless. We are doing this to prevent something that could possibly may happen in the future. If we find this message on you're deviantID, journal, etc. We will know that you are not a fake.

The very post you see above, I'd like to address a few things about it.  

I believe it to be a hoax,  now let me tell you why.

This first point was noticed by rumbletree6
"possibly may"


If you pay close attention to the posts, you'll notice there are a few grammatical errors. 




Another point that I mentioned here and there:
"accounts that we think are fake"
"If we find this message on you're deviantID, journal, etc. We will know that you are not a fake."


DA does not need to look at your journals to find a message in order to know if you are active or not, nor is this even a logical method of checking for activity.  Guys think about this;  How many journals do most people post between a day to a week on DA?  A majority of users post a well enough amount that the journal holding this "message" would literally be buried..unable to be found.   On your DA ID?   DA does not have time to go to EVERYONES page just to look at their ID.
I imagine the main reason they would even visit your page is if someone spoke of you in either a report or a daily deviation suggestion, etc.

So, posting this warning is a tad pointless.

Think about this one;    If DA deleted "name-wasted accounts",  what do you think would happen?
I'll tell you what.
There would be impersonations too far up the creek to deal with. There would be confusion for those who used to watch those users who just lost their username.  It would be an issue. 







So guys, I ask you this...

Don't believe everything you hear until you are linked to solid proof.
Chain letters happen,  it's not hard for someone on the internet to pose as the admins to cause a scare.

ATTENTION ALL WATCHERSIF ANY OF YOU SEE A JOURNAL ABOUT DEVIANTART SHUTTING DOWN OR DELETING ACCOUNTS, IT. IS. FAKE.
NONE OF IT IS TRUE.

Unlike seemingly everyone I follow, I checked with the help desk before making any journals about this, and I got the solid facts before spreading the hoax further that it had already gone.
